RYA Powerboat Course Level 1 & 2, International Certificate of Competence (“ICC”), Own Boat Tuition and Cyprus Speedboat Operators License.
…take me to
Powerboat courses- The RYA Powerboat Course Level 1 is a good introduction to power boating.
- RYA Powerboat Course Level 2 is one of the most popular courses at Latchi Watersports
- Owners of Cypriot registered vessels should possess a Cypriot speedboat operator’s license.
We are happy to arrange custom timings including half days, evenings and spreading training over a number of days/weeks. RYA Examiners can also be organised if you are looking to take an exam, either on their own or as an addition to one of our courses.
We can also offer non-RYA training, providing whatever training you feel you require, with whichever topics you would like our experienced instructors to cover.
This can include spending a couple of days onboard yachts with the owners’ spouse and friends, who don’t normally take an active role skippering the boat, but would like to be more helpful on board, and have some knowledge in case all goes wrong! It could be that you’ve just bought a new boat and would like some handling tips and techniques to get past any unfamiliarities, maybe you would like some pointers on towing skiers or perhaps you want an Instructor to accompany you on your first long passage or delivery trip?
Latchi Watersports are able to provide Instructors for training on your own boat.
Anyone who owns a Cypriot registered vessel should also possess a Cypriot speedboat operator’s license. With over thirty years of experience, we at Latchi watersports are more than able to streamline the application process and prepare you for the exam you will be required to take.
Whether you are returning to boating or perhaps you’ve purchased a new boat that is a little different from your previous boat. We can offer a ‘boat skills refresher course’. We are here to help, whether you need advice or just a reassuring presence on your first time out It’s no problem for our highly trained staff.
RYA Sailing
RYA Start Sailing, Advanced Modules and Youth Courses
…take me to
Sailing courses- Level 1 (Start Sailing), Level 2 (Basic Skills), Level 3 (Better Sailing)
- RYA Sailing (Advanced) – Seamanship Skills. Day Sailing. Sailing with Spinnakers and Performance Sailing
- RYA Youth Courses’ Stages 1-4 how to sail a small dinghy / multihull
Start Sailing introduces you to the world of sailing with all you need to know to get afloat under supervision. During the course, you’ll learn how to sail in all directions and gain awareness of launching and recovering. Once completed, you’ll be able to sail in light winds under supervision.
The main focus is the basic principles of sailing a dinghy.
Following on from the early courses in both the National Sailing Scheme and the Youth Sailing Scheme, you can choose one of our five advanced modules to suit your sailing interests.
These are available to both adults and young people. Each course can be taken on a dinghy or multihull.
Generally, you’ll be ready for these courses if you have completed Level 3 of the National Sailing Scheme, or Stage 4 of the Youth Sailing Scheme and have had some practical experience too.
The certificates within our Youth Sailing Scheme are a significant achievement. Instructors sign off each skill as you complete it and, once completed, your certificate can be of use in other areas of your study or activities such as PE at school, or the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
