How to Hire a Boat in Cyprus when you’ve never done it before
NO FRET! 99% of people that come and hire a boat in Cyprus with us have never done it before!
1. I’ve never done it before
It is very important to us that you are happy and comfortable, but more importantly, have fun! We spend at least half an hour with you, providing a full safety briefing of the Akamas coastline. It is full of BEAUTIFUL bays and lagoons. However, there are a couple of ‘no-no’s’ to watch out for.

We then take you down to the boat where one of our guys will transform you into a boating expert. They’ll then drive you out of the Harbour so that you can begin your boating adventure.
2. I don’t have a boat license
To Hire a boat all you need now is a full car driving license. SIMPLE!
SELF-DRIVE BOATS UP TO 10 METERS ARE AVAILABLE TO HIRE BY ANY PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 21, REGARDLESS OF YOUR NATIONALITY OR WHAT COUNTRY ISSUED YOUR CAR DRIVING LICENCE.
3. Will we be charged a fortune for fuel?
Fuel is charged on a ‘what you use, is what you pay for’ basis. And it is charged at local market rates. You go out with a full tank, when you come back we refill it, and what you use is what you pay for. There are things to consider. For example; if you’re taking any watersports to tow behind the boat. You will no doubt use more fuel. We are happy to give you an idea of the average cost for the different boats.
4. Are we insured?
Yes. You are fully insured however we require a credit/debit card for insurance excess. We write down the details, we don’t block anything from your account. As long as everything is okay when you come back (which we’re sure it will be), we’ll return your excess slip and no transaction will be made.
5. Are there any hidden costs?
You will be asked to leave a deposit to confirm the booking. This amount is a part payment for the total cost of the boat. It is not an extra charge. On the day of your boat hire, the remainder of the rental costs must be paid in full. We also ask for your credit card details for the insurance excess as previously mentioned. And, the fuel you have used is paid for on your return from a day out on the water.
The only extra costs would be if you choose to hire any watersports accessories. Such as an inflatable ring or waterskis, etc. If these are lost or damaged, there is a charge.
We don’t hide anything! We aren’t like that 🙂
