Fishing Trips in Cyprus with Latchi Watersports Centre

Amazing Fishing Trips for all ages and abilities

Fishing is a lot of Fun; and at Latchi Watersports Centre we have fishing trips to suit all ages and abilities.

If you have never fished before, or, have limited experience, spending time with our in-house multilingual fisherman Dimitar will help. He’ll show you some amazing fishing techniques that really work here in Cyprus.

For the novice fisherman and children, we have close-to-shore fishing using bottom lining and spinning

This trip would suit anybody who would like to learn the basics. Including how to professionally handle a rod. The correct ways to tie lines and hooks. And, we will also explain the diverse types of fish you can expect to find at different depths along our beautiful coastline.  You can expect to catch common saltwater fish including Sea Bream, Wrasse, Combers, Weavers and LizardFish.

If you are an experienced fisherman and would like to try something a little different, our deep-sea off-shore fishing with sports rods may be more to your liking. These deep-sea fishing trips last 4 hours and hopefully, you’ll catch Tuna, Amberjacks, Common Dentex, Swordfish and Squid.

During certain periods of the year, Dimitar can take you on night fishing trips for Calamari.

This style of fishing is called Jigging. Jigs are intended to create a jerky, vertical motion from the rod. This fishing trip leaves just before sunset and lasts around 3 hours.

odd job - Latchi Watersports Centre, Cyprus

They call me odd-job. I am one of the commercial boat license holders in the company, and I am one of only 2 members of staff that can captain the parasailing boat which I really enjoy. And, I’m an expert Fisherman.

Dimitar is a commercially licensed skipper with more than 20 years’ experience. He has been saltwater fishing in the Black Sea, Russia, Greece and Cyprus. For the past 7 years, he has been fishing along the idyllic Akamas Peninsula. Dimitar speaks English, Russian, Bulgarian and Greek.

You can go on fishing trips at any time of the day. However, in the morning the sea is usually very calm, and we, therefore, recommend this is the very best time to go. All equipment is supplied. A fishing trip charter is normally three hours but can be extended if required.
